As you can see I learnt to say "hello" in Spanish.
I have just arrived here, look at Tarrio School It's nice.Isn't It?
and there are a lot of trees around. This place is fantastic!
but the best thing of all are ... THE STUDENTS
they are so nice and friendly.
These days they are preparing a Christmas Festival.
Michelle, Sheila, Janina and Lucia invited me to a rehearsal.
The festival was amazing! They sung carols in Spanish and Galician ( it's a language spoken in the Northwest of Spain-Galicia )and danced...we had a good time!!!!
and then..Christmas holidays from December 21 to January 8
Students decided that a could fly from one home to another along this time.
My first stop was Michelle's house.
I was a while the star of their Christmas tree.
Here I am in Michelle's bedroom next to a beautiful Nativity Scene.
My second stop was Sheila's house
Father Crhistmas gave her a lot of presents .
I was playing video games
I was playing football. Did you know that Spain won the last Football World Cup hosted in SouthAfrica?
My third stop is Lucias's house
Here I was warmly welcomed by a "special" Father Christmas
Here I am next to a basket with typical Christmas food: "turrón"(nougat candy),"polvorones"(crumbly shortbread),marzipan,..
By the way,in Spanish, Christmas Eve is called "La Noche Buena," literally translated as "The Good Night."
Here I am in another Nativity scene.
besides, Lucía decorated her house with a Christmas tree
and a wreath
On 5 January Spain celebrates the end of Christmas with a great party where
everybody gives and receives presents. It is to celebrate the arrival of the
Three Wise Men - Melchior Caspar and Balthazar .
There are lots of processions of the Three Wise Men in each
city, the children go along with there parents to see the kings and receive
sweets from them.
Before going to sleep, children put some milk and biscuits next
to the Christmas tree for the Three Kings and some water for their camels. They
also leave out their best pair of shoes to be filled with presents.
On the next day, 6 January children wake up and see how many
presents they have received. If they have been good, they will find a lot of
good presents but if they have been naughty they will find coal. These days, the
coal is actually made of sugar, but some years ago it was real coal.
That night I went to sleep earlier
and next morning I also had a present
